Questions

  • The Nichols Award is open to individuals aged 18 or over who are residents of England, Wales or Scotland, as well as projects, businesses, associations, partnerships and any other body on behalf of themselves or to nominate a third party for the Award.

  • Yes. You can nominate yourself, or a third party.

  • We are looking for entries that demonstrate three things:

    Impact — You are delivering, or have delivered, meaningful change in the world.
    Values — Your work is driven by a clear set of values, whether that is sustainability, community, wellbeing, diversity, or another positive value.
    Vision — You think differently. You bring creativity, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit to everything you do.

  • Your entry should tell us who the nominee is, what they are doing, the values behind their work, how they meet the award criteria, and how the £20,000 prize could support their work. You can submit your entry in writing or as a video. Written entries should be no more than four A4 pages. Video entries should be no more than 10 minutes.

  • Entries can be submitted on the award website, by email or by post to 7-8 Stratford Place, London, W1C 1AY.

  • Entries are open at 00:01 GMT on 30 September 2026, and close at 23:59 GMT on 30 November 2026.

  • No. Entry to The Nichols Award is free.

  • Following the entry deadline, entries will be reviewed and finalists will be shortlisted. A panel of judges will then select the winner.

  • The Nichols Award judges are chosen for their expertise and commitment to positive change. Together they are a balanced and diverse independent panel of changemakers from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

  • Once the shortlisting process is complete, we will contact shortlisted entrants using the contact details provided in their entry.

  • The Nichols Award prize money is £20,000.

  • The Nichols team may use winning entries, including relevant content from them, to promote the award. Personal information will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
